Design Overhaul

The cyberpunk-like appearance of the Cybertruck was one of the primary talking points when first revealed. The out-of-the-ordinary design, to begin with, highlights its innovative, angular exoskeleton. The design tweaks improve its aerodynamics and aesthetics. Based on user feedback and further testing, Tesla has made subtle changes. Aside from the versatile bed upgrades and other truck features, it offers a glimpse into the future of automotive technology.

As the EV automaker continues to push the boundaries of innovation, the Cybertruck is a shining example of creating sustainable, futuristic vehicles. In March, Tesla acquired a patent for the design of the Cybertruck wheels, which will last for 15 years.

Even the minor redesign remains true to the original as Tesla fine-tuned some proportions. The automaker ensures a more aerodynamic profile without compromising on its rugged appeal. The updated design optimizes energy efficiency, allowing the Cybertruck to slice through the air without drag.

Enhanced Performance

Tesla wants to be the frontrunner in the electric pickup truck market. Competitors like the Ford F-150 Lightning can travel a maximum of 320 miles on a full charge, while GMC Hummer EV has 329 miles of range. Cybertruck’s base model has a range of at least 250 miles, 300 miles for the dual-motor, and more than 500 miles for the premium tri-motor model. Adventurers can tackle longer journeys without worrying about recharging.

The performance updates are part of Tesla’s undeniable commitment to innovation. The new version boasts improved acceleration, dashing from 0 to 60 mph in just a few seconds. It has a new battery technology and more efficient motors, significantly increasing the driving range.

Tri-Motor Powertrain

Aside from the single and dual-motor options, Tesla introduced a new tri-motor powertrain for the Cybertruck. This powerhouse configuration augments the truck’s capabilities by providing better traction and control in challenging terrains. Tesla says it can hit 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

With the tri-motor variant, the Cybertruck transforms into a go-anywhere rig, especially if you upgrade to off road tires. The tri-motor caters to adventurers seeking ultimate performance in their pickup. When it comes time to the truck’s capability, the standard electric truck can carry 3,500 pounds in its 6.5-foot bed. But with the tri-motor, it can tow a whopping weight of up to 14,000 pounds.

Charging Port

The placement of the charging port is one of the changes worth noting on the Cybertruck. The charging port was initially placed behind the rear wheel arch on the driver’s side. The placement has been changed to the arch. The charging door also only reveals a Tesla-specific outlet made to work with the superchargers, which is incompatible with other public chargers.

Upgraded Interior Comfort and Tech

Inside the Cybertruck, occupants will experience a new level of comfort and technology. The cabin features premium materials and finishes, providing a luxurious yet rugged ambiance. The infotainment system is updated with the latest software, providing seamless connectivity and access to different apps and services. Also, the enhanced sound system promises an immersive audio experience, perfect for those long road trips.

Versatile Bed Upgrades

Standard pickup trucks have an open bed that serves as rear cargo space. Tonneau covers are usually installed to protect the items on the truck bed. But since the Cybertruck is unlike most pickup trucks on the market, Tesla is introducing an innovative bed upgrade to address the practicality concerns of some customers.

The new retractable cover system in the electric pickup enhances weather protection and security for the cargo bed, keeping your belongings safe and dry. Moreover, the bed comes with modular attachments that allow owners to customize the truck for various purposes. People can store items like camping gear, hauling equipment, and more.

Sustainable Materials

Many people think that Cybertruck looks like an armored vehicle from the future. But that may be true as Tesla plans to use the same stainless-steel alloy on SpaceX’s Starship. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, announced that they plan to build the body using cold-rolled stainless steel, the same as the 50-meter Starship spacecraft in November 2019.

As a company driven by sustainability, Tesla has emphasized using eco-friendly materials in the truck’s construction. The raw and rugged design is suited for efficient reuse that further reduces the vehicle’s environmental impact. The components are easy to take apart at the end of their life and reused for cheaper manufacture.

Most old vehicles are being brought to junkyards or scrap yards to be crushed and shredded. However, the process contaminates high-quality steel materials with other elements (like copper) and recycled into lower-quality steel. Sorting out the old parts or upgrading some components is possible if the vehicle is already unusable. You can remove the battery while the shell is returned to the furnace to be recycled and reprocessed.

Incredible suspension

The Cybertruck has a self-leveling air suspension that allows owners to lower or raise the vehicle by a maximum of four inches. The adaptive air suspension allows for easy access to the rear storage space. It is also advantageous when you want to drive on rough and rugged terrain or switch and then change the setting when driving on smooth, concrete roads.

In addition, Tesla built the suspension system to adapt to any occasion and assist with every job. Elon Musk gave a hint when he posted a tweet that they are working on increasing dynamic air suspension travel for better off-roading. He added that Cybertruck needs to kick butt in the off-road race held annually in Mexico — the Baja 1000.

Waiting for Cybertruck’s release

Are you eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Cybertruck? The latest updates have elevated the much-awaited electric pickup to new heights. Whether an electric vehicle enthusiast, an off-road adventurer, or simply someone who appreciates groundbreaking design, the Cybertruck promises an exciting ride. Stay tuned for the release date and experience the future of pickup trucks with Tesla’s much-awaited Cybertruck.
